Up and coming...

Well, it's been a busy couple of months for us at Round Midnight with a total of 12 projects running throughout the summer, including a HUGE creative arts week with over 100 young people taking part! It was hard work for all but loads of fun. Thank you to those involved and we look forward to next summers activities!

So, now that summer is long gone, we're concentrating on new and exciting projects over the next few months:

Claire Downes, director of Raw Talent and Round Midnight is running Acting for Camera workshops for young people at the Foil Film Festival in November. The Foyle Film Festival takes place in Northern Ireland and Claire will be working with casting director, Pippa Hall. Pippa has worked on a number of films including Nanny McPhee, Eragon and Run Fatboy Run.

Also in November and nearer to home, we are opening a brand new Youth Theatre! Clifton Road Youth Centre in Sutton Coldfield has now become an additional venue for Raw Talent Youth Theatre, which means that all you young actors and actresses in Sutton who are bursting to get onto the stage, finally can! We start on Thursday 4th November, 4pm to 5.30pm for 7-11yr olds and 5.30pm to 7pm for 11-16yr olds. The term runs for 12 weeks and will end in a fantastically funny and original performance for all the family to enjoy! If you or anyone you know is interested in joining, the contact details are at the bottom of this post.

But before all of that, we are running an awesome film making workshop in October half term (25th-29th) and we would love for you to get involved! This is a great opportunity for you to experience new things, such as directing, acting for camera and learning how to create and film your own project.

Pakistan floods fund raising event

I am taking the liberty to approach you on behalf of Sindh Doctors Association ( UK based registered charity) to request you to consider sparing your valuable time to attend the Pakistan floods fund raising event) in Bilston , West Midlands on Saturday 25th September 2010.

The Sindh Doctors Association UK (website: www.sdauk.org) established in 1979 is a registered charity with the Charity Commission and has been actively involved in carrying out vital community projects in health and education sectors in Sindh province of Pakistan since its inception.

I am attaching a formal invite , flyer and location map. I will be more than willing to contact you personally to apprise you of the flood relief work currently being undertaken by our organisation. As you may appreciate , the magnitude of the disaster and its fallout in terms of human suffering has been unprecedented with millions displaced and thousands dying of hunger , disease and famine. Therefore lot more is needed for many more months to ameliorate the distress of people in Pakistan .
